Thanks for your reply. I am working on a case study on the east coast of New Zealand.
I agree that the coordinates should be between -180 and 180, the problem is when I type Long min -171 and Long max 170 ISIS takes the area to the left of New Zealand all around the world. If I swap it and type Long min 170 and Long max -171 (which should be the right way to do it) then ISIS does not recognise this. I think there might be a problem with defining an area that stretches ACROSS the -180 longitude line. Maybe a programming error?

I don't know which case study you are working on but longitude must be
defined between -180 to 180.
And you should restrict the area to your case study boundaries.
